I

If you are staying in the Jacaranda City for the holiday season but you still want to experience a bit of a holiday vibe, the Dinokeng Nature Reserve with its many lodging and restaurant options is the perfect weekend solution for you!

Nestled in the Northern part of the greater Dinokeng Tourism area is the almost 20 000-hectare Dinokeng Game Reserve which consists of more than 200 privately owned properties as well as some government land that form part of the only Big Five free-roaming game reserve in Gauteng. Some of these properties are privately owned, where others were transformed into lodges, self-catering facilities, restaurants, campsites and more – boasting the perfect opportunity to break away from the city a mere 30 minutes’ drive away. Here you’ll find free-roaming game like brown- and spotted hyenas, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffalos, elephants, rhinos and more. The Dinokeng Game Reserve is one of the three major hubs that form part of the greater Dinokeng Tourism area, with the other two tourist hubs being Cullinan and the Roodeplaat Dam.
